Just wondering what are the tolerances when laying uncalibrated slate, you're obviously not going to be able to slide a 50p piece across it as I test porcelain or ceramics. There are no trip hazards  and I've cleaved off any nasty sharp edges but when opening the boxes of tiles it was really a bloody lucky dip as to what I got, one box was completely unusable. Just wondering what everyone else uses as a rule of thumb?
