Uneven Walls

Ok, what in everyones opinion is the best way to deal with walls that arnt flat? Up to now ive just used a thicker bed by applying addy to back of tile but am sure this isnt giving me a full bed required in wet areas, but time and time again i find the joiners ply out a wall but constantly find the the wall has a bow etc or the wall is just old and due to that dont run true.

Any advice would be great.

Cheers again.

Prime the wall and layer some rapid set and rule off, wait for it to set though, at least it will give you half a chance

My only hint of advice would be - only accept 'near perfection' - that is in the preparation, your fixing, and the the finished article!
If you don't - then only you have your answer.

Yeah its a good shout but what if the bow is out in the middle would you still recommend same and fill either end of the wall with rapid set?

:thumbsup:That's it.
Someone is getting paid to prepare the walls for tiling and that should be within the guidelines of British Standards for tolerances over a 2metre length.
If your finished tiling is not within these guidelines whose fault is it - ultimately yours.
It's no good blaming the previous trade - they've gone.
So it's now decision time!
No one is going to thank you if there is still a bow in the wall after you've tiled it and are you going to get more money for extra adhesive/time etc that it will cost.
Have you seen the links to -onlinetiler- he tells it the way it is.

Get a better joiner!

I tend to remove anything thats not right and make it right. If you can get some extra ££ from the person paying the bill even better but sometimes its just easier to put it right and tile it that faff around building out every tile.
