Saw a demo today of a product I had not heard of before, Rapid-All-in-1 Stone and tile impregnator by Universeal.

It is a 1 or 2 coat impregnator that works unbelievably well. I saw it used and waterproof very porous brick, kitchen roll, newspaper, slate and travertine. Once applied and allowed to dry (about 20 mins) it is completely invisible and needs no cleaning off afterwards. it can even be applied to damp surfaces as well. I saw the demo with the product in an aerosol can which will cover between 5 and 15m2 depnding how porous the material is and best of all, it comes with a 20yr protection timescale! Also available in larger non aerosol containers.

Website - Welcome to Universeal Sealants but this appears to be down just at present.

I am highly impressed and will be using this product on my slate floor in 2 weeks time!

Where did you see this demo?

It may well work, but these sort of things always remind me of the carpet clearner products that you see at home expo's where the demo will show someone pouring all sorts of rubbish on a carpet only to produce somw magic cleaner that gets rid on every last drop! what they don't show you is the person the night before treating the carpet with hundreds of layers of stain block:ban:

I watched this demo in CTD trade day last week. I had already purchased 2 cans the week before but not used them. The demo was good and I bought the gun thingy that makes it easier to apply. Used it end of last week on a bathroom floor re-grout and applied as soon as I had packed up my gear, took all of 1 minute to apply. Been back this week and put some water on the grout and it just sits on top. Customer well happy. They sell a grout sealer and a 2 in 1 impregnator, the rep said its the same in both tins, its done this way purely for the general public.

Only other sealant I have used is Lithofin Gisela. I was really impressed with this stuff though. Will let you know how it goes when I use it in a few weeks time.
