Think i got a bit of a bargain today, so thought i'd share.
Got a customer that wants UFH under slate in their conservatory. Been shopping around to try and get the best deal on warmup, customer is insisting on that brand because they want the gucci stat. Anyway, i popped in to Topps to have a chat with the lads and see if i can beat them down on price. A fella walks in looking for a tile, has a vitra dotti in grey in his hand. At this time we were currently at around £720. So suggested to the fella he goes CTD, and as he wasn't from Peterborough i got on the blower to the store to get the postcode for his satnav. Whilst on the phone to Mike (CTD - Peterborough) i took the oppurtunity to drop into to conversation i was after some UFH for a job and i'll call him back. Gave the guy the post code and off he went.
Once he's out the door Will (Topps - Peterborough) nods at the screen and i see the following:
Warmup Prowire 10
Warmup Prowire 5
Warmup 3IE (Gucci) Stat
£500!!
I've been going CTD a lot lately for there offers, and i've been rubbing the boys at topps noses in it. I think they're making about 12%, stopped me driving over to CTD though. Think it might be starting to sink in that with their profits dropping last period that helping the trades out might boost their bottom line a bit?
