Water mains earthing

Hi.

Currently my water supply is via a lead pipe which has an earth fixing point (boxed in so is inaccessible) just above the stop ****.
I plan to relocate where the mains water enters the house, and will be using a Philmac Universal Transition Coupling to join the existing lead pipe to new copper. This joint will be inside the house floor plan but beneath the floorboards.

Given the UTC is plastic am I ok to leave the existing earth in place or do I need to run a new earth to the block which is terminated onto the lead pipe before the UTC?
