Wax residue on Tiles

Hi ,Got a porcelain job comming up soon and its the 600x600 polished tiles from B&Q these come with a protective wax coating on to protect them during transit, i was talking to Dave and he said there is a new produst out from Lithofin that takes away the wax coating, pencil marks etc think its called Abra clean.. is that right Dave. Lithofin also have a product called Wexa to take away wax, can this be used in the same way Cheers Mick

These coatings are a bit stubborn mick....so if wexa was to do the job then lithofin wouldn't bring out naother product to do it...if you see what i mean...

IMO i would get the Abra clean and then you know it will work...these transit coatings are a nightmare to remove sometimes...and you have to be careful what you strip it with so that you do not etch the tiles surface...

Yeah true Dave thanks for that, ive just been on the Lithofin site and cant see the product yet, where did you say you can get it from again mate.

Dave, What do you think of Aqua Mix Nanoscrub for this?

Probably the same sort of stuff rob....as long as it dosen't scratch or etch the surface then it should do the job....

I use Aqua mix nano scrub, use a tan or white scrub pad on a rotary scrubber, then wet vac it up.

Aquapanel or membrane for shower area? Aquapanel is basically a cement board which is not impervious to water - it just won't disintegrate and keeps its strength, more or less - whereas membranes are plastic and I'm not convinced that using tile adhesive to stick them to the wall then using more adhesive to stick the tiles to the plastic is a good idea. What's to stop it all coming apart? The "dovetail" indentations on some membranes don't inspire confidence, since plastic is flexible and what stops the adhesive "plug" from popping out?:mad2:

I have used Turps with great success in the the past. Spot test it first to make sure it wont have an adverse effect on the tile surface.
