Hi,
I'm new to this forum and have been lurking and enjoying all the valuable insights from all you guys. Now I have a questions: We are looking to fit a very tight en suite in loft conversion. A shower tray would be very awkward, so we are hoping to make a wetroom.
As costs are spiraling, I was thinking of omitting the expense of a former (as we are creating all the floors new anyway) and creating the drops with the joists and the plywood on top (or maybe some other waterproof flooring sheet?) then inserting a square drain in the corner as per sketch on attachment :

Then tank and tile over. (probably large format tiles with mosaics around the edges and around the drain, as well as for a border on the wall)
What are the pros and cons of this approach?
Any suggestions on which drains are easiest to fit in the corner? (we were first looking at trench drains, but they are very expensive as well)
What tanking would you suggest that is effective, can be laid by a first timer and won't break the bank? (Saw Mira tanking kit for £65- is that any good?) We have 2.5m2, so not big, but I need to keep the costs down, without ending up with a leaky wetroom.
The choices out there are just too much!!!:mad2:
THANKS in advance.
