Looks good, Never understand why they don't block up the window though when its in the shower area

No I don't know why they didn't block up the window either. I did suggest it to them. There was a builder on site who would have been more than capable of doing that and re rendering the outside wall for a few quid. But they were very worried about cost. I even suggested they asked him for a quote. I would have been more than happy to level out the wall inside at no extra charge, as I was using plenty of SPF.

You can't see the ceiling I skimmed inside the shower area. I don't do much plastering for other people but that ceiling was one of my best yet 😀

No no corner tape. I just used the Karl Dam profiles for the Silicon - not easy with textured floor tiles:santa_cheesy:

Come on Dave, I want to know what you think 🙂

I've seen your gallery and it looks really good!

Can you give us details of the floor CC, just nosey, only done one myself so far.
Thanks john

John

The floor is 24x12" Porcelain by B&Q. I used Profix SPF for this bought from CTD. The grout is BAL Ebony, Efflorescence Free with GT1 admix as it was SPF I was using for the adhesive.

I used a 10mm round notch trowel to lay them, and 4mm floor tile spacers. I kept the thickness of the adhesive fairly consistent over everywhere except the former where I corrected an out of level error on the former and increased the fall slightly to allow for the texture on the tiles. The customer had chosen riven tiles for safety, but this obviously hampers flow unless you steepen the fall.

The substrate is screed over concrete, so an easy one to work with. The former is Tilux supplied by Wetdecs.

I had to envelope cut this over the former. This photo was taken a little while ago.

Out of some 27 tiles that were laid I only managed to lay 8 without cutting them!

Looks good hugo..when i have to lean sideways to view them......lol lol..

Just one bit of a question/critism....

Don't you think it would have been better to have equal cuts either side of the window....

It just looks out of sync.......wot you think mate..?

I see your point Dave, and it's a good one.

The customer and I took the view that we wanted a grout line in a certain place to enable a tile to end at the edge of the shower area. Just to the top of that photo (if it were the right way up) you can see wall. Well to the left of that is the shower area and he wanted a tile to end where the shower area ends, as the tiles are floor to ceiling in the shower area. This obvioulsy threw out the tiles on the window. It would make more sense if you could see this bit as well.

We did discuss this. grout lines are always discussed with the customer before I commence tiling.

Many thanks for that anyway 😉
