smooth is pants but smooth 70's is a completely different ball game , love absolute 80's and 90's too

anyone that comes cheap from the car boot, as long as it plays radio 2 and is detuned for radio 1

Well i have no complaints with my dewalt radio and it has 2 x 240v power ports as well... and a proper built in power cable.

More robust than the flimsy makita ones though

Very hard decision to pick one of them, but i might wait and see if maketa do a battery charger one as that would be handy for my 18v li-on batteries on my grinders and i like the compactness and sound quality ........

That is the only downside to the Makita......no bat charge.

Strong enough for most sites/jobs.......unless your a real clumsy git, it'll do fine. If not......get the DeWalt.


Still think the Makita sounds better.

Col .. the newer dewalts have a really good sound compared to those tinny older ones.. and they also have a BASS boost and go REALLY loud.. and in inbuilt fast charger..

I have heard the newer version Dave..........but smooth 70's sound better on a Makita. :smilewinkgrin:

Dont like fast chargers either, as I think they kill batteries faster. :smilewinkgrin:

I use a Marshall DAB Evoke 1S. You can't get a better sound than a marshall celestion speaker
