I read your reply Alan:thumbsup: that's why I thanked you:hurray:, but you mentioned it was a sweltering hot day, now I don't know what the temperature is like with you at the mo, but down here in lakeland the mercury isn't daring to climb out of it's bubble:lol:

I know mat, that's why I stuck my tongue out at ya :8: down here at the moment, it's brass monkeys, rapid set is behaving like standard, example, I tiled a wc floor in 300 x 300mm polished porc one morning this week, went back to it on the night and the addy was still soft as clarts, couldn't get on it to grout until next day :mad2:

guys, chemically the only difference in the two adhesives if the same manufacturer is the level of retarding agent slowing the set time down, most of the other properties ie; sand cement , filler, polymers are the same as.

Rufus

but I probably want to grout it same day Davy, I'll just get another bag of rapid for this job:thumbsup:

you wont have any probs with it sticking them ive found that if you mix white and grey and you get a bit on your arm it burns a bit but its not a a@e burn:thumbsup:

i would do the same as Davy and mix one bag and use it then the other one but would be reluctant to mix both for various reasons Doug....i sense you are onto something Dougy boy!

We do it alot with the bags the lads bring off site when they've finished, never had any problems with any of the brands we've mixed there all some form of cement.

Done the same myself sometimes if I'm running out of rapidset but have a bit of white slow set. Sets reasonably quickly in a rapidset heavy mix, and never had any problems, wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
