And if a sheet is installed incorrectly it will fail. If you can tank a cardboard box and it is still Water tight after two years there is not much wrong with that product.

I tried the ardex one a few years ago and found it very hard to work with. I prefer sheet tanking but paint on system has been supplied here.

I agree, liquid membranes are quicker, cheaper, and actually better than fleece.

Interestingly, while both types of system are 100% waterproof, the liquid membranes have much higher water vapour resistence than fleece systems (water vapour molecules are smaller than water molecules).

Mapei's test results show their fleece has a water vapour resistance of 1,510,000 S/M, whereas their liquid membrane Mapegum WPS has a resistance of 9,100,000 S/M. That's six times better! Probably why they sell the membrane by the truck load, but have you ever even seen their fleece for sale? Nuff said.

I've always used the Bal WP1 system myself and never had a problem, but then you have that drying period to take into account if your in a hurry.
