Started a bathroom this week but after 1 day i was sick of it, i new i was gonna hate it when i quoted it because when i first met the guy outside topps tiles (he saw the signwriting on the van) i was writing down his number using the side of the van as a flat surface and he told me that i should be 'holding the pen in a verticaly' as he said it a rage surged through my body (we all probably know that stomach turning feeling) and i was about a milisecond away from poking him in the eye with the pen.

Anyway i thought of the money and carried on as normal but like i said i hated every second of my first day so have passed it on to Wivers who is gonna finnish it for me next week.

Next week i am working for a developer doing 3 large bathrooms (ceramics and porcs) walls and floor.and a hallway floor (prob take me 2 weeks or so) then loads of other stuff after that..............

Gaz unfortunately i am coming to the tile and stone show with Wivers, i have tried to put him off coming but he just wont get on the train by himself. So we both have to suffer him for the day

So you felt like hitting him and leaving him in the 'horizontally'.

Hi, I have gone from being really busy since February to not having anything on for next two weeks then going on hols. I have just gone in the thomson local directory (in Scotland, Fife) and am about to have my van lettered up so really haven't marketed myself yet. Have done some really small to quite big jobs but all ceramic or porcelain so no stone, travertine etc yet (thank god). All my work has been for friends family or been by recommendation so far with a couple of people getting me back to do more work for them because they were very happy with the standard of my work. I am not the fastest but not the slowest either and really take a pride in my work. I will give it till the end of the year and if my business does not take off I will have to go back to working in admin which I hate but is what i did before. Loads of tilers springing up where I am now but some not so good. Oh and by the way I'm a gal stariing to get muscles like a bloke, have lost a stone in weight and taken 6 shots off my golf handicap since doing tiling full-time!

I did Darrens 5 day course in Soutth Shields in January his year (excellent) but had been tiling for around 15 years so wasn't a complete novice.

Cheers
