Cheers Dave! After you had told me about the need to prime (which I kinda remembered from my course but wasn't sure) I got up at half 6 Monday morning to battle the rush hour into Bolton and got to Topps, when they told me I didn't need it I was gutted but also relieved as it meant I didn't have to wait round for two hours while it dried.

I think I will use BAL in future. I don't like the sound of "you can get away without priming" so I think i'll prime in future too!

The Job is going ok, will be done tomorrow. I have had a couple of small problems but all in all it's been a good little job. I dropped a box of tiles on the tiles I lay yesterday (not from a great height luckily) and broke the corner off a few of the tiles in the box and the corner off the tile it landed on! I can use the tiles from the box for cuts no prob but will have to replace the one I broke, obviously! It happened cos I was just so knackered!

Thanks for all the advice!
Gaz

If it is in a blue bag don't risk it.Why a Topps member of staff would reccommend this over Bal just astounds me:eek:???? not only is it not good enough for asphalt the profit margin isn't as good as Bal,like Dave says use neat balbond primer on the asphalt first to make sure of it and Bal rapid.

Ok you just worried me! What could happen as a result of me NOT bonding?

He didn't exactly "recommend" it above BAL but he seemed to know what he was on about when he mentioned it and said it was good stuff

no probs mate as long as jobs goin well, bal is a good brand i use it for floors and walls.
dont get me wrong when it comes to asphalt floors a good wash will suffice on most floors but if its smooth asphalt defo prime.. i prime all the time anyway better to be safe than sorry... dave.. post some pics when done..
