The only mesh I can think of is scrim or eml, the latter not being used for scimming.

You will have to have a chat with the customer and explain that there is a problem with the tile weight, not your fault and give them a choice for getting tiles that are a bit lighter.

yes i think this will pee them off big time but i will explain. i dont think the tiles were right for the area being unfilled trave. what happens if they say go ahead?? argh

Then thats your choice and there's, if they insist then get something in writing and signed but have it written that you explained the weight issues.

You can reinforce finish plaster with fibreglass mesh it comes in meter wide rolls and we use it a lot on older houses with movement on them where the customer wont pay for the lime route but it is only to help stop cracking and wont help your weight issues
