what would you have charged?

i did a course last year and have been tiling weekends/evenings since then.this job was great for me.lovely tiles, loads of space, nothing too fiddly, and i got bacon sarnies too! the time seemed to go on putting tiles on then taking them of again because of lippage.then when you take the tile off you get adhesive everywhere.i`m learning that if you can work cleanly then thats time well spent.

the customer is less than impressed with b and q fitters.there was a long list of snags,a bad cut to the sink,a broken bath panel, flush didn`t work, they boarded the tops of the ends of the bath with 9mm plasterboard even though they new it was going to be tiled, plus it was way out of level. like everywhere,i`m sure you get good and bad ones.

I'll tell you wants gone on with the basin. Some numpty scribed the panel forgetting to take into account the thickness of the worktop. Would have expected chrome tail pipes to the rad too.

What's gonna happen with the architrave too? Are your tiles flush with the door liner and the architrave is going to sit on top of the tiles or is it going to butt up to them?

Not too sure on price as didn't see the amount of prep needed before hawn but £450 is too cheap but if you're happy then it's all good. By the way you say it's was 23sqm @ £25 but that equals £575??

Looks a tidy job from the pics:thumbsup:

the price doesn't seem too bad but as already said you need to be quicker to make a decent wage. the cut for the basin panels is horrendous but they are buggers to do, i,ve done a couple of them semi recessed basins and there's no margin for error at all

Did you do the job over evenings and weekends? Bacon sarnies and decent coffee are usually reserved for people doing a good job and getting on well with the client. Looks like you've cracked the hard bit of the job already.

colour republic got it spot on.they did forget to take the worktop into account.i can imagine his face after all the effort of getting that cut to the right profile, then holding it up against the sink. i did the job over 2 weekends and a few evenings which hours wise made up about 6 , 8 hour days. i charged the customer £600,but spent £150 on materials so got £450 profit.

The overall finish looks vey neat, 6 days isn't bad if you are newish to the game. You will find in a couple of years that you will half that and be able to do it in 3 days, thus making you a nice profit and a good wage.

Did anyone else notice the small fill in tile above the door frame? other than that nice work.
