What's the best way to tank a plaster wall

I just follow the manufacturers instructions but on saying that I did see couple of Hardie boards put up with dry wall adhesive once and were'nt coming off that easy.

i know mate,dry wall sticks like the proverbial to a blanket.
im gonna try it the next time im on a job,just stck a couple of bits to a wall with dry wall and addy,and try and rive em off

I have a couple of bags of dry wall, would you guys recommend using that? If not what's a good tile adhesive? Our tiles are of a decent size as well 22" x 12" porcelain tiles, what would be a good adhesive for them?
