when should slow set floor adhesive be used?

ok thanks i meant why do people use slow setting adhesive on the floors... is there a reason or is it down to prefference as ive seen rapid set used a few times and if you wait around for a couple of hours you can just grout it same day.

I use slow set on walls, one bag can last from 1 hour to one day depending on what I'm doing. Rapid set on floors (always) my favourite slow set is either Webber or kerraquick

If there large and heavy tiles then a rapid/fast set on the first row of tiles then a standard set for the remaining.....

Do you mean KERAFLEX? kerraquick is a rapid setting adhesive

no dean, just being a little sarcastic mate,I've been finding kerraquick quite useful as more a medium setting adhesive lately, i swear the stuff is getting slower!

not sure if newbies are aware of the fact that manufacturers actually adjust the ingredients for seasonal varations..

Ahhhhh I'm with you 3 hours is not so rapid is it hahahahahahaha

I didn't know that Doug! Someone certainly messing around with the kerraquick, it was never the quickest but I swear its getting slower, I really would class it as a medium setting adhesive and for that reason I like it!

I use Keraquick (rapid set) on floors and Adesilex P9 (slow set) on walls. Most tiles I fix these days are large format porcelain and these adhesives are good to work with. The P9 has a pot life of just about all day and its on offer at CTD at the moment. I'd use it on a floor if it was a complicated layout or on a large commercial sized floor if I could be sure no one would walk on it.
