When to put up the Xmas tree?

I know it's meant to be 12 days before xmas, but with the snow being outside it doesn't feel right when I look out the window and there isn't a tree in my line of sight with lots of decorations on it etc.

Can we stick them up early please? :lol:

ive been told to clear my decorating gear rom the dining room and get everywhere straight before friday as the deccies are going up saturday

ive started the hall this morning and was enjoying the freedom of having a whole room for my gear but its back to situation normal with falling over the paste table on the landing

I got to get a tree yet. Normally buy one on the day to limit the pine thingies that fall off towards then end.

My tree is 9 years old this year. Might invest in something a bit slimmer for next year as it's a big nordic spruce 6 footer for when we lived in a terraced house with high ceilings and big windows. It looks a bit odd in the 7 year old new build. We have to take branches out of the back of it to squeeze it into the corner in the dining room. Might consider putting it up in front of the french doors instead this year, but no pressies under, so prying thieving eyes don't get tempted.

I used to have 'pretend' tree's but the Mrs loves a real one as she'd never had a fake one at her 'rents as a lass.

we have a pretend one and a real one each year , one in the front room and one in the dining room. chelles been making xmas thingies to hang on the trees, she like a big kid at xmas and cant understand how anyone (me) doesnt get excited by it and cant wait to get back to normal ( might be something to do with living in santas grotto for a month)

last year I had my kids xmas eve and morning.....the tree stayed as long as they did. 20 minutes after they had gone it was back in the loft.

Very true, I cant remember that last nice xmas I had. When you are on your own and you have two....well one young kid/kids you want to spend it with them but they have other family now so a few hours is all I can take of xmas.

been there and got the t shirt also spent the day playing dad to other peoples kids and not even seeing my own, xmas can be a difficult time for a lot of people
