good morning.
im going to be tiling my bathroom next in a weeks time . i have a 250 x 400 ceramic 8mm tile that weighs a tad over 1.5kg so i know this comes to just under 16kg/m2. i was going to use wickes extra stong wall tile adhesive that claims to stick upto 300x600 or white star plus .... so what would you advise a competant diyer as there are so many !!!
im neat but im not fast so i dont want a fast set . whats the difference between keraquick and keraflex and i want it in white incase i get any mess .also what size notched trowel would i need to use 8mm ,6mm or smaller !!!
any advice would be greatly appreciated

Depends on how flat the walls are, I normally go with a 6 or a 10mm notch. If walls are good then you can get away with a 6mm or skim the wall & the back of the tile & it gives you a bit more adhesive to play with.
I would go with a powder addy for that size of tile, I tend to use Weber set plus or Weber spf, they are both slow set so plenty working time. Or try Bal spf or Mapei p9.
There's loads of adhesive you can get but stay away from tubbed if you can on that size tile.

looked at the weber set plus and states coverage 1.5kg of powder per m/2 for every 1mm of bed thickness . if my maths is correct and use an 8mm trowel this equates to 12kg of powder per m2 which is going to be very expensive . how much coverage do you pros get out of a 20kg bag at say applying it at 6 or 8mm

You doing the maths wrong. An 8mm bed will compress down to a solid 4mm bed in a perfect world ( but it isn't)
so. 1.5 x 4 = 6kg. Divide into 20kg = 3.33 m per bag.

by my maths it will cost you £4.80 per m.

fact is though, you will probably not get 100% solid bed so might use slightly less. Or your walls may be out and you will use slightly more.

are you more confused now? I am!

just ordered 3 bags (60kg) for just over £44 delivered
http://www.worldlyneeds.co.uk/weber-set-plus-tile-adhesive-white-20kg.html.
would of been £52.80 (£17.60 each) but they have a 6% off a £50 spend plus if you sign up to their news letter you get a £5 off code and last but not least there was free delivery on a £45 plus spend, so i got 3x 20kg bags for just under £15 each and delivered FREE
