The general rule of design is the more verical lines (portrait style) will make the room look narrower but higher and less ( landscape style ) will make the room look wider but lower. The same goes with clothes in that vertical stripes will make you look taller and slimmer and horizontal will make you look wee and fat. Check with the ladies.
