Be interested to know what motors you guys are using? Do you find a car based van gives you enough space for your tools of the trade, or do you go for a panel van?
Thinking a getting a van myself (im new to the industry), but ive found issues with every manufacturer ive researched?

Be interested to know what the general norm is..

Thanks in adv

Hi,

When i started tiling i used the car with the back seats down. It was OK but I was ruining the car plus you soon aquire more and more tools. I have a 800Kg 2.0 TD Berlingo which is fine for me. I have to use a roofrack for 8x4 sheets. Alot of the guys have traffics, transits and the like. Its up to you but the smaller van is fine for me. Mind you I dont collect and deliver tiles, you would definitely need a bigger van for that!

I have a Zafira which copes well with my type of jobs but i will be getting a van next time around.

i also have a Zafira,so does the wife..great big cars and i have a roof rack for sheets etc.

I have a combo van and its a bit small, ok to start with but the more tools you collect over time the more clutered it get, thank god for the garage 🙂

had the escort van, then a transit, then another transit, then a transit sportvan (looking good but doesnt carry weight well with those alloys) ask your accountants about tax breaks on vans for this current finacial year, which runs til end march, the rumour is that the full value of a new purchase van can be offset against 1 years tax bill instead of over three years, i havent checked that out for sure, but i heard the rumour....
