Which Self Leveling Compond?

Hi Everyone,

I am installing a new floor shortly which will have UFH. Does it matter which SLC I use?

The original floor is wooden board which we will put tilebacker board on top off then I was going to lay an SLC before tiling.

Can I use BAL Multibase or should it be BAL Acrybase?

Never tried those but i have heard great reports with Mapei Fibreplan.

Hi Paul,

According to the Bal Fixing guide it says you should use Acrybase onto a Wooden subfloor when using Ufh. (See Pics below) and use Bal Multibase when onto a concrete Subfloor.

Never tried those but i have heard great reports with Mapei Fibreplan.

I would agree that Mapei Fibreplan would be your best option it is a great product and a lot of guys on here have used it.

Mapei fibre plan is perfect for wooden floors with ufh....It is also fibre enhanced which neither BAl products are...the fibres make it a much stronger slc and another plus...Mapei is a damn site cheaper...

its very similar to fibreplan. setaflex also do a fibre reinforced one as well.
