which trowel ?

do it for yoursef and then you may get it

I'm going to do it in the garage, I'm quite interested to see the results. If I'm wrong I'll hold my hands up and make a public apology for my stubborn posts  I'm always willing to learn.

So if you get better coverage with a 4mm mosaic trowel then when I'm fixing 900 Porcelanosa tiles tomorrow I will step down from my 10mm to a 6mm & that will give me better coverage?

Im guessing thats with mosaics not tiles 900mm. Im guessing because the mosaics are small the more notches the better

prep is the key,

I will agree there.

With "these" 10mm trav mosaics I will stick with my 6mm tile as it would normally get cut down for a border & the field tile would probably be done with a 6mm also.

Not everyone uses the same style so I will stick with what I do..

It's not about getting better coverage... A 4 mm on that tile should get 100% ... So will a 6, but with the 4 mm, you will have a neater application. You can't get anymore than 100% even though some ppl say "I gave it 110%"... They lying!

Quite right, we develop our talent in different ways, nothing worse than someone telling you to do a job their way when you know that yours is better

I hate that saying, "I gave it 110%"
You can't get more than 100%,

The thicker the tiler the bigger the notch I will use Charlie.
Not saying my way is better, far from it,
If the substrate is perfectly flat then you could use the smallest trowel you have..

Exactly Stef, it's to do with size of tile and how flat wall is. Hey, I been giving it 110% at work all this week because I have been working overtime.... How does that work then lol

IMHO you will not get 100% on every tile on the sheet using a 6mm notch but if you do then its all good.

Well this has been a thorough thread, I wonder if the OP feels his question has been answered

He prob be loosing sleep over the decision on which one to use.... What if I choose the wrong one?....oh no. Go for a 5mm mate, best of both worlds ;-)
