No alcohol Ash! I glue and screw every floor (wooden) but the floor that failed which I had to rectify (not my initial installation I must add) was on flat concrete but yes, that one for some bizarre reason had been screwed!?!?

It says on the label to glue and screw.. so no matter what Geoff next door says or does, I'd do what the manufacturer says is the way to do it..

Iv been taught to glue cement board then screw it, but lately made friends with a couple of tilers and they just screw it? What do the proper tilers do?

Only used glue once, using no more ply when it first came out, Expensive but had to go with what they advised.
I always prime, baggy adhesive and screw now. Feel its a better contact to the sub floor.
Have never just screwed.
Dosen't mean i'm a virgin :lol:

I actually know a "tiler" that only stuck and not screwed Hardie to chipboard :cowboy:

for me its always glue and screws. and screws have to be from hardie they are strong imho
