illegal immigrants from Albania to United Kingdom Travel, via Orio: a 13 000 € Take an arrest
The investigation of the border police: Albanians contacted at home, paid 12 thousand pounds each. Taken to Italy, they left Orio with counterfeit documents. The arrested man ran a network of accomplices and "escorts at the airport"
The border police at the Orio al Serio airport carried out an interim detention order in custody charged to a 32-year-old Albanian citizen. The provision stems from an investigation, coordinated by the Bergamo Public Prosecutor's Office, on the basis of a phenomenon that the police could not fail to notice: an increase in cases of Albanian citizens going to the United Kingdom and Ireland. Almost all of them altered the Italian identity card by modifying the photograph of the holder and the dry stamp.
Investigators have discovered that travelers departed thanks to bookings made outside, in particular in Tirana and Elbasan (Albania), but in the name of Italians with criminal records living in the Piacenza area, where most of the counterfeited documents came from. used: identity cards that were probably stolen.
The police stations have allowed, thanks to the cameras of the airport, to identify the cars with which the Albanian illegal immigrants reached each time the airport. Accompanying them were usually Italian subjects, with criminal or police records: six were reported for aiding illegal immigration. And further investigations have made it possible to identify an Albanian, owner of a Fiat Punto often used to bring travelers to the airport. It was he, according to the police, to pay the illegal immigrants for 500 euros for each car trip to the airport. And it was always he, presumably, to make contacts in Albania with a series of accomplices, who found the people intending to leave for the United Kingdom: each person, according to the investigative reconstruction, paid between 10 thousand and 12 thousand pounds for the journey (therefore up to around 13 thousand euros).
