Well it's not a promising start. I have to say it's rather dirty here and all rather shabby. Just had dinner and how I managed to pick the only restaurant in Rome that can't cook pasta I don't know. Carbonara that looked more like cauliflower cheese and mushroom risotto that was just rice with a few mushrooms sat on the top! Still, tomorrow's another day...

Just remembered something that has made it worthwhile coming and something I don't think I'll see again, 2 Carabinieri on motorcycles with lights flashing and sirens blaring going over a crossroads. 1st one standing up and the 2nd one standing up wheelieing!!
