Will the test meter over or under read the utility meter? Discussion ThreadWill the test meter over or under read the utility meter? Electrical Advice

Good day

The following table shows the results of 3 current transformers (50A/5A, Class 0.5%) connected to a 3P-4Wire Digital Energy meter. (Performed at the meter manufacturer's workshop).

It is observed that at Unity PF, the meter readings for current are a close match to the supplied test currents from 1 to 50A. The average of averages works out to be around 0.6%.

When the current transformers and meter are supplied with 0.5 Lag, however, the measured PF is in the range of 0.65 to .71 L

My question is given the calculated around 28% increase in measured PF, with the digital energy meter under read the payable consumption in kWh or over read it? I the Utility Provider's meter reads 1000 kWh, what would this test meter read, if connected to the same (domestic) load. The load is domestic use where loads are mostly resistive.

Thank you.
