I got the Makita about a year ago. Pretty rugged, although I seem to have snapped something inside the handle and it doesn't protect the aerial anymore as it moves both ways now!
Awesome sound though, I got it from Its london tools site, cheap as chips for Makita stuff......DO IT!

we had an I-pod plugged into a bosch one this last week, thousands of toonz and sound quality was superb, altho' I'm surprised some of the hotel guests didn't complain as most nights it was on till about 6am!!
