Working in Germany

As the title says, I have being offered a job in Germany through an recruitment company with accommodation paid for and work for at least 1 year, its being 20 odd years since I worked abroad is there any pit falls I should watch out for.The pay is €18 per hour into the hand. Any advice is welcome

last time i was in germany was during the war ,

in bavaria there are 70000 flats needed. its a big building boom like in the nineties. all people fears the euro goes down. it is the best moment to work here in germany i think.
most of germans no more like to work on site. they all try to get in the car industry and they do ok payed temp work.

Worked in Munchengladbach & Dusseldorf.. in '92, decent people, clean country..
eyejoints only as Turkish tiles, had to build own bath panels from blockwork, no grouting any internals or where any wall / wall or wall to floor meets as Silicon mans job as powerfloated, excellent powder mix sticky.. non slip ! They tile full tile from the ceiling as their builds are spot on ! Washboy only clean, as no dusting off, against health and safety
If you work for the union 8am - 4pm, sat mornings only, and no sundays ever.
DO NOT SWEAR IN PUBS AS = FIGHTING TALK ! we are known as the fighting nation !!

My last post should have read "got ripped off" not "of," the agency was English/Dutch. Not German, we were on a job where the German fixers were doing big floors, the Dutch fixers were doing big walls, my mate and I were doing spiral staircases, and we still got ripped off.

Hope you have a better experience than we did. I'm sure you will.
