I must have been watching different games to the pundits!
They all said how well England played against Italy - we lost!
If that's the best we have to offer then it's just as well that we can watch players like Suarez in the Premier league.
I couldn't pick out a stand out performance in either game from England and as harsh as it may be Hart should have gone for the cross in the Italy game, and should have stayed 'big' in the Uruguay game.

The thing is, the England team for the last 25-30 years has been and always will be a mediocre bunch of footballers. We cannot defend, that is a fact. We have no standout midfielder who controls a game and makes defence cutting passes. We have no top class finisher. All the World cup winners have all of the above.

In short, we will be lucky to get a draw against Costa Rica even though we only have pride to play for.

We keep hearing that 'this bunch of young players is the best we've had for 10 years'. And they keep saying that every 10 years, and what happens? Always fail to meet expectations.

Never mind the team needs a clearout, it's the suits at the FA who need out. Trevor Brooking for starters.

And Mr Hodgson, surely you must have some runner beans to tend to.......

Problem is the clubs pay their wages and that's where their loyalty lies. Stuart Pearce was talking earlier on Talksport and he was saying how the mangers of PL and Championship teams kept pulling out their players from the England youth squads as their clubs don't want them injured. This meant they get very little tournament experience or the chance of being in a group to create a winning team mentality. It's the PL against the FA and until that's sorted we will just turn up to make the numbers up!!!
