..or pulled it through to the end of the shower area?, The closer stops full length tile at the end of the former, but just looking at the pics I wondered if it would look better if I'd continued it to the checkout cut.

cheers Gary , if bath had been 10mm further over I wouldn't have need to put a closer in, but we can only work with what we've got so we just have to get on with it the best we can.

Ash a closer, closure , gusset depending where you live is a way of avoiding small cuts by putting in equal cuts to fill the gap, quite acceptable in tiling, brickwork etc.

on the top pic Ash, do you see where I've split the tile? , that's known as a "closer", it's split so that I can grade it from the split down into the gulley. The checkout cut you can see in bottom pic, that's the "L" shaped cut that comes round the cupboard.

Phil, as you've said, we all have different terminology of what we call cuts etc, me, like you, like to talk plain english with what we were taught, but I'll happily take correction off you fella if my terminology is incorrect

this may be another term that gets lost in translation due to locale, I've always called an "L" shaped cut a checkout cut, just because my old boss called it that.

It's debatable what you would do there. I suppose 3 options - 1) Do as Doug has done to keep the large tiles intact. 2) Split the tiles so you have a join down the middle of the width 3) Make the mosaics wider

It's personally preference really on what each person thinks looks better. Think I would have been tempted to make the mosaic wider but then that might not have been an option depending on what was happening in the rest of the room.

I wouldn't of made the mosaic wider i would of just gone half tile from the mosaic then would give the right hand corner half and half but i suppose that would be down to prefference and also how it falls on the wall to the left. Not questioning dougs descision though

originally the mosaics were to be a full sheet wide, but that would have left a 20mm slither cut into the corner, so I gave the options to the customer and we agreed to half the width of the mosaics, so we could avoid a slither.
