I like to listen to radio 2 in the car, or to my CD's, but Radio 2 seems to be lucky for me, I seem to catch some good discussions just when out shopping to make me think, i'd find it too involving in the studio when I need to concentrate on what I'm doing. I know the teenage kids of friends of mine love listening to Radio 2, topics they discuss with their pals who are into more than just fashion, music and football, it's always good catching up with them what they think, too. Radio1 just gets on my nerves after a while, Yorkshire Coast Radio is great fun, lots of listener interaction, too. Radio York seems to get it all wrong for me, irritating like no other. Radio 2 is definitely not for any particular age group, just for people who like to think, so all good

Radio 2 seems to be the popular winner over local. I take exception to having to be old to listen to it though.

To sum up the difference imo between Radio1 and Radio2.....last year when the problem with the oil spillage in the Gulf of Mexico I was working in a busy house and could hear both channels. There were regular bulletins on each channel. Radio 2 consulted a oil exploration engineer and an ivy league professor specialising in environmental issues.....Radio 1 spoke to Paloma Faith and Dizzee Rascal

Sandy, as in my post, some really cool teenage kids I know listen to it, too. So laugh that particular daft notion off as a joke and be happy about your curious and lively mind that likes the Radio 2's call to think and be informed in a pretty independent way - there are quite a few of us with you all the way  and Kilty is a young'n anyhow :)
