Discuss Should i use ditra mat over polypipe plus overlay boards? in the America Tile Forum area at TilersForums.com.

Hi. Need some advice.
I've laid down polypipe plus overlay boards in my house.
My tiler says we should place a ditra mat before laying tiles.
However, polypipe say we should NOT use a ditra mat as it will prevent the tile adhesive from curing.
Dont know what to do. Any advice from tilers / homeowners / plumbers who have used the Polypipe Plus Overlay system for UFH would be appreciated. Thanks

Tile adhesive ( cement based ) cures by chemical hydration. So cannot see how that argument works lol. As for using it over that system, I’ve personally not come across it. Tbh from what I’ve read on here , most tile directly to the system. Ditra would be belt and braces , something I always believe in but to be sure call schluter uk tech line and ask if it’s ok over poly pipe overlay system.
