Hi again everyone, final question on this project I think... the tiler left an expansion gap either side of the tiled area, is it okay to caulk the gap before painting the adjacent wall or do I need to leave the gap?

I would with probably white or something to match tile in silicon rather then caulking

I would recommend caulking the joint and then cut in with paint when dry. I’d use a quality caulk though, something like Den Braven or Geocel.
