First week in the local rag, nice big add. really need the work as ive gone really quiet and guess what. they printed my number wrong. :mad2:

No phone calls this week, got a free week but its no the point. Really peed off.

Im on my period now :mad2:

Similar happend to me only they placed it on a day no one bothers with. Like you say a free Ad the following week just doesn't cut it as far as needing the work is concerned.

tried putting an advert in our local paper it cost me summt like £90 for a week a complete waste of time only got 1 call from a time waster ill never do it again

it only cost me £19 that was for 5 lines. gonna reduce it to 4 lines next week and the work tel: went into the fifth which cost me an extra 4 quid

been there done it with local rags in sheffield and rotherham on and off there are jus full of horse manure.Never got any work from them except odd quote every now and then which probably every one else gave a wide birth.get ur sen on manchester gumtree mate i had a few unexpected jobs from the sheffield one and best of all its free good luck

Been advertising in the local paper and towns paper alternating and doubling up over the last 4 weeks. Must have cost over £110. Got 5 quotes in that time and one job.
The problem I have is that if you don't try you don't get, but it is soul destroying.

Not being funny here, but "Cant really be arsed with flyers" attitude isn't really the attitude you need if you really need to drum up business, surely anything that gets you work in should be explored.
