finished ;today with the fein; bosch machine you dont need to cut the tile around the architrave anymore ;and then the drill bits for any shape hole etc etc.dont get me wrong the finish is superb with these machines but im just getting nostalgic used to love the challenge of a difficult cut ;and another question what is the most difficult cut you have had to do on a job .

There was a time when I thought grinders were taking the cutting skill out of tiling, and I use to cut quarries with a tapping hammer and worked with a lad that mitered his tiles with a hammer and small cold chisel.

This was a challenge, when done there was no noticeable distinction between each tile, had to be good though as there was no transition to hide the cut. I love using my angle grinder, other than my sigma it's my primary cutting tool

wow !

Yeah grinders really get you out of trouble. Especially if you come across tiles that are too big for your cutters.

how we used to mitre seems like a long time ago now

I know Art is an emotive subject but I couldn't compare the use of an angle grinder to shape a tile with a chain saw on a block of ice - Ice Sculpture that's art.
