No, seeing the blade flex like a piece of plastic whilst spinning at 11000 rpm certainly gets the heart beat racing. Don't make a habit of it or say bye bye to one of the ends of your thumbs

if I could design a safe angle grinder it would be pointless as the guard would encompass the whole blade, you would only hear it spinning lol

I don't have guards on any of my grinders and probably couldn't do half of what I do with one. Had. Bit of a wake up the other day though when the project manager borrowed one and had a serious accident. Got flown away by air ambulance etc..
thankfully he's ok and no permanent damage after recovery but shocked me when I think that I use them every day.

even use my grinder for socket cuts now , cant be bothered to set up the wet saw wedge it in between my knees with both hands on the tile = full control ;)

I thought there was nothing like shaving with a cut throat razor to remind you youre alive, you're millimetres away from cutting your throat every morning

But a fast spinning blade all up in your Jaffas could top it ;-)
