    Pic 1, lippage issue.. probably why the Silicon run has gone like that. There are Silicon remover products available to ease removal.

    20mm xps min for 600 centres. Last jacko job I did, studs were 450mm. Used 12mm boards so did as recommended and added studs at 300mm. Time consuming and added timber cost but solid. Would go for this over 12mm hardie anyday.

    xps boards here also. Easier to work with and fully water tight if installed properly. HB has it's place. For me.. that is over boarding a wooden floor.

    Silicon not setting after 2 days

    No nonsense caulk goes yellow fast. Their Silicon range is ok for some jobs but final finish I use dow corning or Mapei.

    12mm Ply + Cement board + Tiles on stud wall

    Just fit a few timber noggins across the stud uprights for fixings or extra strength where needed. No need for ply.
