Can I mount Marmox board onto plasterboard, and what method would you advise? I could remove platerboard and mount onto stud but I know the studs aren't suitably spaced meaning adding more timber (every 300mm)
I did this yesterday on a smaller wall after some good advice off this...

Hi all,
First post so here goes:
I've bought some 10mm Marmox backer boards to line the walls in a walk in style shower area I'm currently installing at home. I'll be installing on 2 walls, both are stud. I've removed plaster board and the stud work is not the best so my thoughts were to mount...

I am tiling my family bathroom and ensuite bathroom floors, both un-heated and will be 6mm Marmox boarded over pretty sound floor boards.
I am using 600x600 Porcelanosa Extreme White tiles and would say I am not going to be super quick tiling it as I am a bit of perfectionist and will be taking...

Dear Tilers Forum,
On our ground floor - for various reasons, which I don't explain here, we want to put down:
- existing concrete
- vapour and radon barrier
- insulation boards and 70x25mm wood battens
- 18mm hardwood plywood
- 6mm hardiebacker
then the question: CAN WE USE LARGE PORCELAIN...

Hi Guys,
I'm not a tiler so don't get me wrong, I'm a retired chippy doing a self-build. I have done bathrooms for myself in the past and used green board for ceiling, concrete board (NMP) on stud walls covered in Homelux, and concrete board over chipboard covered in Ditra for floor. That worked...

I was the one that had the problem with the pipes that came up from the floor and the customers were taking me to court.
Well, I have been to the court and I was found not guilty ! it was...

Hi all.
does marmox need to be tanked. Ive laid 20mm marmox boards down upto showerlay tray siliconed the joints. used the sealing tape then tiled using flexi addy.
I was told by marmox tech that there is no need to tank if all of the above is done.
Your thoughts appreciated.
I've got 2 bath panels to tile, the frames are built and the tiles bought. The tiles are 300x200 and quite light.
I've been looking at Wedi board to build the front panels. I thought this was quite expensive at £134 inc VAT & postage (I couldn't find anywhere local). The price came from this...
