Told by tiler to remove boards

Hi all - I've got a wetroom that I've started myself due to no-shows from trades people. The room is to be completely tiled and a sliding-door shower to be used on one side of the room (no tray, just tiles). The walls were rough when I removed the old tiles so I added plasterboard with adhesive...

    Builders using Hardiebacker boards

well after years of trying to convince one of the builders I do work for he’s finally ditched the plywood and is now using Hardiebacker boards. Lightweight Foam Tile backer boards. Long thread titles are a wonderful thing.

Following on from the thread I posted yesterday about these foam boards, it got me thinking about the installation of these boards. I was quite surprised to find out that some companies recommend purely screwing these boards down when overboarding a suspended timber floor. No adhesive. I...

Getting tempted to move over to Foam boards for all showers.

Just picked up some Orbry board and was quite surprised how cheap it was. £21 for 2.6M x 0.6m x 20mm thick. The 12.5mm board is about the same. 20mm Board you only need 600mm stud centres. Does anyone use a foam board on all of their showers? I think I’m going to move over to it a bit more.

Tiling onto a floor that’s half floor boards and half screed.

Got a floor to do it’s about 7m2. Just over half is floorboards existing and the rest is a new screed. What people’s views on what to do? Was thinking wedi board on the floor boards then level the screed to the board and prob put an expansion joint in where they join. Anyone else got any ideas?

    Insulation Boards thickness

What are the advantages of 20mm boards against 10mm boards on top of concrete slab. Would the underfloor heating on top heat up any quicker or would the thicker board just prevent the heat from dispersing less
