Is there any reason why you cant tile directly onto brickwork if you use plenty of good adhesive?

Hi all,
First time tiler. Decided to tile the kitchen after a fire destroyed the old one.
I need a bit of advice as to which layout I should use for the pipe which has been boxed in.
Do I ignore the bond on the arch, split each side of the boxing into half and brick bond? Or do I continue the...
I will be tiling external brick wall but more I think about it the more questions I have:
1. does the brick wall need to be prepared in a special way - ie is there a primer that i need to use to seal it before tiling?
2. adhesive - I was thinking about ARDEX x77 ?
3. are there external metal...
hello I'm a new member and wondering if anyone can give me advice whether mirrored metro brick tiles are suitable for kitchen splashback and behind the hob? Would the glass crack or the grouting come off due to heat? Or the silver of the glass becomes distressed? The thickness of the glass...

I bought 200mm by 500mm Argenta Camargue Perla ceramic tiles and Bal Grip plus tub... to find out the Bal Grip plus isn't up to the job because of the size of the the tiles. I see from other threads there is a more 'professional look' way to lay tiles, so we are not sure how to lay them...

Hi all very new here just signed up to ask a question!
I am wheelchair-bound due to a disability so unfortunately I do not know anything about building work!
I have just had a bricky complete the last room of my renovation. He was placing brick slips on the wall.
I'm now looking for a sealer...
Firstly apologies for the hand drawn half scale drawings.
1/3 brick bond in a small bathroom, there's always going to be a compromise but can't decide what's the best way to go with it. The window hits you straight on as you walk into the room therfore IMO the tile centred around the window...
Hi.
I have some plasterboards stuck to the wall. Pretty solid.
However, I need to just add maybe 4-6 screws each board into the wall to further secure.
How best do I do this? I tried a drill and screw with plug but no good.
Do I need a special type of plug or screw?
Thanks

Whats best place to get real brick slips?
Tried CTD, Topps, Tile Giant and Jewson and no one does them. Could get them online but prefer to see them first.
Thanks
Had a customer contact me a month or so ago, listed building, want old looking brick floor.
They have found and bought some brick's cut into slips from eastern Europe, look ok, so gave a price to fix, grout and seal.
They didn't know what colour grout to go with so did a sample board, but the...

Looking to do brickbond layout for some tiling, any tips on what cuts should i go for on the ends, 1/4 and 3/4 ?s
On a row with 1/4 cut, on the joining wall would i put another 1/4 cut and the same for the 3/4 row? or 1/4 cut with a 3/4 on the joining wall row? Not keen on using full tile on...
got to an insurance job today earlr,6am ,they said all ready ro go ,the main bathroom wall 4 metres long ,25mm out from top to bottom, explained that brickbond 600x 300 needs to be level both ways and wall is to far out as not building the whole wall out to match the top ( the widest point)...
Hi, I would welcome some advice as I have got myself into a pickle.
I planned to attach brick slips to a bonded coat in my kitchen however have realised that they will be too heavy to be directly attached so am now considering attaching a cement based back board but am not sure how to fix it...

Hi All,
Just been laying a floor 600x300 porcelain, not sure where the tiles came from but boxes were very old and at first glance although quite thin, didn't appear bowed. Having leveled floor and layed first couple of rows and started to notice slight lipage in the place on attached drawing...
Hello,
I'm renovating my house which recently purchased, bathroom is currently back to brick as the old pb came off with the tiles.
So we are going to dot dab it and use appropriate pb.
Does this have to be waterproof pb all over the bathroom, or just the shower area? Also, does waterproof...

Do I
