The current proposal is to use rhomboid shape tiles locking up to each other.

On big kitchens conservatories etc when customers don't want expansion joints on the centre of the floor.
What other method would you use?
Would u just cut tiles back 10 15 mm from the perimeter to allow expansion

Morning people!
In a few weeks time I have a new build house to tile.
The total area is about 220sqm.
The downstairs floor is about 120sqm and will be tiled using Limestone in free length.
The screed is completely dry (sand/cement) and the surface is like a snooker table which I'll prime first...
looking at peoples albums, i see that lots don't use them, WHY, i know it is not a good selling the job point ,BUT it is for our own good,and the longevity of the installation ,or do you think it is somebody (tile shop) job to make the client aware ?

2) Also, does anyone have any comments on tiling onto plywood overlaid with ditra matting (floor obviously)? I've done this a few times without any come backs...... Am just interested in any observations. Thanks.

As some of you know, i've laid 600x600 porcelain tiles with UFH, the approx size is about 13.5sqm, would I need any expansion joints due to having UFH. Just reading horror stories about probs with porcelain tiles and UFH, so want everything to be right? Cheers

When laying ply do you fill the exspansion joints between the sheets with silicon or put tape over them to stop adhesive filling the gap. If using tape what kind do you use.
