Finally come across a tile the sigma won't cut..tried one score, five scores, steady pressure, quick snap, just won't cut em :(
Bring on the Rubi brigade ;)
Well, my second actually. Forgot to take photos of my first one, a kitchen floor, as got a bit excited and cleared off minus photos. Anyhow, the hard work has paid off and I've been paid up, happy days. Not quite quick enough to give the day job up just yet lol!
So I'm no professional, the pictures are more than proof of that but I am pretty proud of myself for my first tiling job without any help, especially since a lovely forum moderator taught me a lot of what I know :D
This is in my bfs parents loft shower and was completed back in January :)

Hi Everyone,
First time I've tried tiling and I'm having problems getting the tiles to stay up. I'm using Unibond non-slip wall tile adhesive (ready mixed) and even after a couple of days they will lift off the wall very easily with a fingernail, so no chance of grouting. Strange thing is that...

Hello there. We've just bought our first home and having moved in last week, we are about to start a small refurbishment project on our downstairs WC/shower room.
The existing shower is in a bad way and isn't really useable. Its clearly leaking (a line of blown plaster on dividing wall between...
Hi, the arguments about tiling the floor before the walls, when using the same tile and your lining the joints up ?
The floors about 5sqm, walls 25sqm 60x30cm porcelain. I would normally always lay the floor first in this scenario, as you guarantee matching the joints on both wall and floor. I...
Hi all
Found what looks like a great forum for tiling questions.... Going to be having my first stab at tiling, using slate tiles on a window sill. Just gotta figure out if I'm allowed to post links in my thread and if so how many... I'll get reading.
See you around.
Cheers

Hi all,
3 months ago we started a full house renovation that has consumed almost every working hour. Amongst the work, is a full refurb of our bathroom. I've never tiled or done any significant DIY before so this is quite a good learning process. I'm keen to learn new skills and welcome any...

I've just gone to measure up for a job I'm doing - bathroom refurb - re-tiling shower/bath area, new (replacement) electric shower, new wash basin and WC.
From the looks of the existing plaster in the bath/shower area it will need to be hacked off with new plasterboard fitting.
I've just found...

Hi All,

The wife has chosen some tiles that are 602x300x9mm porcelain wall tiles. They weigh 4kgs each, meaning a weight of 22.15Kg per m2.
Can someone tell me what the weigh of the adhesive is likely to be?
I dont know what notched trowel...
