I have a cement floor with a ceramic tile on it which is non porus. I'm putting a levelling compound on which is ball stop gaps general purpose smoothing underlay fast setting formula (green bag). I should apparently be using milk 114 latex for non porus flooring however I've been supplied...
Did mention this last year, but thought would mention again, if you want free mixing buckets for your adhesive or self leveller or just for washing off water, then make a trip to your local swimming baths. They should let you have the Chlorine tubs they usually throw away.
WARNING These produce...
Some questions regarding Keraquick & Latex plus....
1. Mixing.
Do I need to mix the powder and liquid by hand or using something like a plaster mixer in a drill?
2. Working over previous days adhesive 'spill'
Lets say I tile so far then stop until the next day. Even if I scrape up any...

Hi All,
How can i remove addy/self levelling from a weyrock floor. Have tried all day to scrape off using a heavy duty floor scraper to no avail. Would a chisel action drill work, or would it cause too much damage. I will be boarding over the weyrock so damage shouldn't cause me too many...
How do you guys and gals mix your addy and grout?By this i mean do you measure it out like it says on the bag or do you mix it to the consistence you want to work with?
If measure it out do you carry scales about way you?
I currently use a very old Black and Decker to attach my mixing paddle to for mixing adhesives.
I've been lucky in that the first two I've got off Freecycle, however the chuck on the current one now shakes itself loose on a regular basis.
I have just bought a £20 job from B&Q for this...
I need to lay self levelling compound on my kitchen floor so that I can lay new vinyl tiles. However after removing the old vinyl tiles I have had problems removing all the old adhesive. It is a brown rubbery substance which I have been using white spirit and a scraper to remove. But no matter...
I have looked at several jobs lately and the tiling is good, but the grouting is really bad...How many of you actually mix the grout correctly? or do you just put water in and add the powder until you think its OK, Do you mix it with a slow speed mixer? Do you let it stand for a couple of...
Hi all
Would appreciate any help regarding self levelling a 16m2 concrete floor.
It does need self levelling and there are in some areas dips of up to 11mm.
My plan was to using Bal multibase put a first level down of 5mm then when dry a second one and feather in to the top of the humps.
Having...
Hi fellow tilers, just after some advice.....
Tiling a room on saturday, I've levelled out the concete floor and bonded it, then going to lay insulation boards using flexi adhesive and then laying the ufh mat over the boards and then slc over the top to a thickness of 5 mm, am I ok letting the...
The Spiked Roller......awesome. Have just self levelled about 75 m2 prior to tiling. The floor was in a right mess where the builder had used a combination of grinder and kango to get the old bitumen off. Anyway I invested in a Spiked Roller to try out on the job and I was well impressed with...
I have 150 sm of 200x200 floor tiles to grout with an epoxy grout and have been advised to use a mixing paddle with a propeller blade on the end instead of my standard mixing paddle, so that it mixes it to a nice consistancy and so that i dont have to throw my paddle away when fineshed !
Just...
Hi there. I'd like to tile my basement corridor which is slightly uneven brick and prone to damp spots. I wondered if there's a self-levelling compound that does the damp proofing stuff too? If not would I have to apply a damp proof membrane then self-level (please don't tell me I'd have to add...

I've got a conservatory floor to tile which itself is a straightforward job, its level & 98% smooth. However, the floor sits exactly 45mm below the level of the adjoining floor and the customer would like it as close to this as possible, we agreed a 5mm difference would be ok. They have the...
Well, I wanted a Sparky the moment I saw one and the comments on the forum make me want one even more. However, even with a Screwfix 10% discount at the moment, its still more money that I can afford to spend - as I've already spent LOADS on tools this week.
But - last night, my trusty paddle...
