I have read about trowels for mosaics on walls, around 3/4mm but wondering if this this still applies when using mosaics on the floor. The tiles I got are 5mm thick (see photo). Thanks.
I've got the task of removing all the mosaic tiles as they are popping off, going ( was going) to replace with same original style mosaic, started stripping off and tiles are pinging off leaving all the old grout firmly bedded on... Originally thought the grout would just scrape off as well...
Hello,
I've got a bit of an unusual enquiry that I'm hoping someone on here can help with.
Some family friends of mine recently took possession of a farm property on the continent, as part of an inheritance, and what came with it was about 100 metric tonnes of what they believe to be Glass...

If anyone out there can help with these tiles, prepared to travel anywhere in country to collect. Kitchen alterations necessitate perhaps 12 tiles, would take more if you have them.
Hi all, my first post on here.
We're looking for a specific tile that was used in our bathroom upstairs, it's a Copper Silver Mosaic, it was originally in Topps tiles but they discontinued it about 6 months ago and said they sold off all of the ranges. We want to finish our bathroom and need...

I had bought these faithfull tile nippers, which looked good in pic but were utter crap ( even they weren't the cheapest stuff on market and they aren't Faithfull at all!), Didn't realized that I can't even cut a regular tile with them only some very thin stuff and the cutting metal already...

hi all,
I've got a glass and metal mosaic border, it's fitted with white powder adhesive ( palace ) and white grout ( palace ).
I fitted it about 6 weeks ago, and it's been noticed that the glass mosaic backing is dissolving, no bleach has been used to clean them and the manufacturer has said...
Visited a commercial renovation project in Bath on Friday. The artist designer wants to tile the communal (male/female) customer toilet floor with pebble mosaics (its a seafood restaurant).
Never tiled using pebbles, but cannot see a problem until it comes to grouting...
But would you put a...
Hello all,
I'm in the throes of a front garden restoration project across 6 terraced houses in London, SE18 and seeking a tiler to complete 3 pathways. Some have the original Victorian pathway intact but the others have had to be removed due to their being unsalvageable. I'm getting very...
Hi all,
My marmox shower tray is quite lower than my floor tiles since laid so is it ok to build it up with adhesive and shape to the drain prior to laying the mosaics.
It's mainly on the back wall the porcelain mosaics are approx 8mm the floor tiles are 10mm and the difference from the shower...
Hi,
I'm going to be installing a 1200x900 Kaskade wetroom former, and overboard the floor with 6mm No More Ply (as per their recommendations).
Ideally I'd like to avoid the envelope cut needed with larger format tiles. But how big can I go with mosaics before I'd need diagonal cuts?
I've seen...
So attempting my first wetroom floor.
Tough-X Linear wet room kit bought from the very helpful people at www.TradeWetRooms.com (found through this site)

Hi everyone,
New to this forum, but having only read threads as a non member (very useful advice and tips, so many thanks!) thought I'd join up and try to get some advice on fitting my mosaic borders.
I've fitted large tiles leaving gaps for a mosaic.
So, 5mm adhesive + 10mm main tile = 15mm gap...
Hello,
Never attempted a mosaic before, so thought I'd seek some advice. Only having used mosaic in the regular tile format (same as tiles, but patterned) around the house, I fancy a go at a "proper" mosaic stripe and column in the bathroom. I've really gone in at the deep end with my first...
Hi guys,
Looking at getting into doing some geometric/Victorian floor tiling but would like to go on a course and see some done first hand before I tackled one myself. Have seen that Able skills offer a 5 day course for this skill set and wondered if any of you had any feedback or experience of...
OK so I'm currently doing a large job and one of the shower trays covers around 3sqm and they have chosen a mosaic tile from Porcelanosa. The tile is branded Noohn mosaics, paradise tinybroken edge gris. I laid these yesterday morning as per instructions that came in the box and grouted this...
Got a job coming up tiling a wetroom. Small wetroom tucked in the corner of a downstairs WC. Walls are block and have Aquapanel dabbed and screwed. Base is concrete with waste in the middle with okay falls (like a shallow bowl) and will be mosaics to make things easier. There's also a single...
Quite like these from London Mosaic, haven't been on their site for a while.
