Any advice on removing difficult tiles welcome. I've got about one third of the old tiles off in my bathroom which have been there since the house was built in the sixties. Some came off relatively easy with a hammer a brick chisel but others just wont budge. I bought an sds drill and tile...
Morning guys,
I've tried searching and I've not found quite what I'm looking for. This may have also been better in the underfloor heating section.
Bit of background, not a tiler....but used the forum to completely rip out and replace my bathroom including ufh.
As much as I'd love to be able...

Hi everyone,
After a bit of advice (isn't everyone).
We need to completely overhaul our upstairs ensuite bathroom.
I've managed to remove all of the tiles and the old shower and enclosure.
What's left is the adhesive on the flooring. It just doesn't want to come up (as can be seen from the...
I'd like a pair of the old drop forged tile snips.have had a pair 14 yrs now and cannot find any decent replacement that porcelain doesn't destroy .anyone want to sell to me
I've bought a house in France (I can hear the groans!) quaint old place with loads of original terracotta tiles that have been "enhanced" with red paint. I'd love to get the tiles back to their original condition. So - how do I remove the paint and what is the best way of sealing them after...
Hello,
Long story short however I'm looking to replace the original entrance floor in my house that previous owners have wreaked.
I've found locally a supply of quarry tiles which match the existing. The top surfaces are clean however the edges have the remains of old grout on them. I...

Anyone remember using Ardex Neoprene primer or Bal Acetone primer!
Both highly inflammable and both did the job right.
Neoprene for wood surfaces and the Acetone for plaster.
Never had any fixing problems with either but know of a tiler who set himself alight with one and I had a fume flash with...
Hi all,
I have an issue I'm hoping you chaps can help me with after removing tiles from my en suite. The adhesive has partly come off, 30% probably (the rest will be a total pita), the issue i have is that I'm not sure i can lay straight over the old adhesive, even though it is only 2-3mm in...

I've got a kitchen/breakfast room that is now one room, one half floorboards and one half old, uneven concrete and looking to lay 500 x FL x 15 limestone over the whole lot. I've had one quote just come in where his suggested method is to prime the whole lot and overlay with 10mm tilebacker and...

Hi all,
I used to post on here years ago, some of you might remember me.
I disappeared from the tiling sceen for a while and although I stayed within the tiling industry (sales rep for N&C) I came off the tools and donned a shirt and tie for a while instead!!
Long story short, I didn't enjoy...
Hello there.
Hoping to find some advice on a floor issue at home. We live in an early 60s property with no DPM under the slab and I've been thinking of sticking pro backer 6mm waterproof boards over the whole floor prior to fitting our (possibly) engineered wooden floor or tile combination.
We...
Not sure if this is the place to ask but need to get some new cutters in a hurry just had all my tools nicked outside chingford gym. Anyone with minimum 600 length cutters pm me for a quick sale! Need more than one and any size bigger than that would be good too.
who has made provisions for there old age?
people pay into a pension?
I have a few small pensions, but aren't going to keep me in beers so I work hard now while I am fit enough to pay of mortgage and try to build a nest egg.
Tiling my front path today, old concrete slab that has no cracks and is in pretty good nick. Took the decision not to break up and lay new slab. Was thinking give it a sand and clean, prime, lay bal Matt, then tile. Any thoughts gents?
About 17 years ago my son and I did this. We dug up the path, relaid and built a hardstand at the side. We were passing this job just last week and I told him to go and see how it was, take a photo if it was still ok and run if not!;) It was one of our first joint ventures.
