Hi all,
I used to post on here years ago, some of you might remember me.
I disappeared from the tiling sceen for a while and although I stayed within the tiling industry (sales rep for N&C) I came off the tools and donned a shirt and tie for a while instead!!
Long story short, I didn't enjoy...
Hello there.
Hoping to find some advice on a floor issue at home. We live in an early 60s property with no DPM under the slab and I've been thinking of sticking pro backer 6mm waterproof boards over the whole floor prior to fitting our (possibly) engineered wooden floor or tile combination.
We...
Not sure if this is the place to ask but need to get some new cutters in a hurry just had all my tools nicked outside chingford gym. Anyone with minimum 600 length cutters pm me for a quick sale! Need more than one and any size bigger than that would be good too.

I have a few small pensions, but aren't going to keep me in beers so I work hard now while I am fit enough to pay of mortgage and try to build a nest egg.
Tiling my front path today, old concrete slab that has no cracks and is in pretty good nick. Took the decision not to break up and lay new slab. Was thinking give it a sand and clean, prime, lay bal Matt, then tile. Any thoughts gents?
About 17 years ago my son and I did this. We dug up the path, relaid and built a hardstand at the side. We were passing this job just last week and I told him to go and see how it was, take a photo if it was still ok and run if not!;) It was one of our first joint ventures.

Hi,
Just wondering roughly what proportion of a pro tillers work is taking out old tiles and making good before refitting.....I'd envisage a high proportion of your job is on new installations done by kitchen fitters and plasters unless its a wet room.....im looking at doing the run of the mill...
Years ago when grout basically came in one sort, you had to add your own flexi additive if you wanted flexible grout, and wide joint grout just had a load of sand in it. I was shown a way for certain tiles, grouting as usual with a thin ish mix, then getting a handful of grout powder and...

Right, old ensuite all ripped out, ready to start making good. First fix plumbing and wiring, the adding a little stud extension on 1 wall to bring out and make some boxed recesses with board then tank.
I also removed a partition to make it bigger, I can fit a 1300 x 800 tray. Removing and...
Just wondered as I have a very large stamp collection to sort out and sell. Also I was given about 500 original pictures of stars from the 1930s- 1950s. About 200 autographed. A load of pre war toy trains as well.
Hi
Have just removed tiles from my bathroom and there is old adhesive still on the plasterboard (plasterboard is fine).
Quick question - can I tile in top of this as it seems solid?
Thanks!

Hi Guys,
Got another kitchen install coming up and am tiling the floor which was covered with Lino. Owner has taken the lino up now and tells me it isn't great underneath. I am presuming (based on his other floor which I have seen) being a very old concrete with render floor where the render is...
I remember a very good thread on it from a few years ago explaining the banks and runners method in depth, I've a feeling it was by Phil Hobson, anybody remember it? I can't find it on the search. I think I actually found it on google but it was a dead link.
Trying to explain to somebody at this...
