I've had a search and can't find the answer probably because it's obvious but want to check anyway.
Stripped the old downstairs wet room and removed all the plaster as it was damaged back to the sand and cement coat. After leveling the floor I'll be installing a tray and screen.
My question...

Hello,
A first post from someone not very good at building stuff.
House in South America, generally well built but poorly maintained the last 30 years. Local tradesmen not doing a good job repairing and renovating. Learning to do things myself.
It would be great if anyone can give me pointers...
We have 64 wet rooms to tile on Hull. Wall tiling only. Tiling doesn't get much easier than this. 4 walls no windows. Each room averages around 18m2 @£££+. Someone who's quick could easily do 1 a day if not more a day.
Must be a quality tiler with the right ATTITUDE!! No primadonnas! own...
Hi guys just a quick question, are you able to use sand and cement as a tile adhesive instead of the modern day 'tile adhesive'..because basically i have been to many countries where they use sand and cement in installing tiles and they seem to last donkeys years with no cracking or any problems...

Anybody heard of an adhesive (apparently popular in a certain country) that uses "glass balls" I think he said, instead of adhesive. He definitely said glass something. Might not have been 'balls' per se. lol
Wondering if A) you've ever heard of it B) if you have, you've ever used it and C) if...
Guy's I'm sure this has been asked before. How long do you need to leave a new screed floor (Sand cement) before tiling can take place.
The screed will be going down within the next month. The builder has told the householder I will be alright to tile after about 4 days of it being laid...
I wonder if anyone could advise me on how best to finish a sand cement internal wall ready for direct tiling e.g.
-just rubbed flat with poly float
-closed with sponge after being “rubbed”
-fine key with devil float
Any advice / informed opinion welcome.
