Hi folks!
Forum newbie here, be gentle (or not, I can take it).
I've boxed in around a corner bath, attached Aquapanel on to boxing with Silicon and screws so that it is flush with the bath top, and a slight incline towards the bath.. All good so far (or not, feel free to interject / mock...
Hello. Looking for a bit of advice.
Just finished tiling a bathroom and grouting now. There’s boxing/shelves around the bath. Question is do I grout or Silicon the internals. There’s no shower above.. my worry is that it’s going to be a family bathroom with the kids likely splashing around and...

Hi,
I'm looking to use hexagonal tiles flowing into engineered oak floorboards on my bathroom floor.
I've attached a link below to a nice example that I'm trying to simulate.

I'm concerned that if I use grout on the transitions, the grout lines will...
Hi Forum I am new on here. I was hoping someone could help me with advice on our outdoor tiling job.
Our tilers have put grout between the walls and the floor tiles. I was led to believe you should have a flexible material between 2 different to stop cracking of tiles or them popping off? They...
I just bought a house and noticed the stone resin shower tray is leaking.
The Silicon job is pretty crap so I started removing it with the aim of redoing it properly but noticed the shower tray is still wrapped in plastic around the edges meaning the Silicon hasn't bonded to the side of the...
Hi all,
I was taught when sealing corners etc to masking tape before. Trouble is the tape here to be honest is terrible, it doesn’t stick and peels off whilst smoothing the Silicon.
Any alternative ways?
Other posts mention fugi tool, do I still have to mask up when using these?
Hi,
I usally tile , then grout then silcone, But the job im doing at moment tiling over a bath with a shower im tight on days after was lot extra prep,
I thinking if i finished tiling and silconed same day then grouted next day would save time waiting till next day for adhesive set before...
I remember reading somewhere that there's a specific trade or at least people who are very skilled at Silicon sealing.
I have a lot of corners in a soon to be completed bathroom that will need this doing and I want it done really well as if not, it can really spoil the final appearance.
I...
Hi all
Im curently constructing a new patio at home using porcelain tlies , the tiles are 1000x500 with 5mm joints , they’re a white / very light grey colour .
I’m toying with the idea of using Silicon in all the joints as apposed to grout , I’m a dab hand with a mastic gun & could get a...
I'm installing some acrylic shower panels onto Aquapanel. Ideally I'd like to seal the shower tray to the wall with Classi seal or similar then tank over before installing panels, for the best possible seal. The glossy acrylic panels I'm putting in (lustrolite) need a neutral cure Silicon...
Just wondering
Does Silicon adhere/seal to it self
For instance, is it ok to seal a shower tray to the tiles and then seal the wall corners, down to the tray.
You know, if you've not much practice at applying sealant. Or should it all be done at the same time?
Please can you help
i have just had my bathroom done. I bought Ardex coloured silver shimmer Silicon to match grout.
The residue from Silicon has stained tiles.
I have tried:
White spirit
Meths
MultiSolve by CT1
Viakil (normally does everything for me)
HG grout cleaner
Fila tile and stone...
Hi.
I'm just wondering, in your experience which are the best mould resistant Silicon sealants?
I used one to sort the tired Silicon in our shower about six months ago and already it has a speck of mould, so I don't want that to happen with the brand new shower that I'm installing.
So, have...
1st- when doing a kitchen splashback, when finishing off do you have to Silicon around the bottom where the tiles sit on the worktop??
2nd- are there any methods when using adhesive to mix in the wall sealant with it so you dont have to wait for the walls to dry before tiling ?
thanks ..

Hi
Can you please let me know if a product like Schlüter DILEX-EKE or equivalent internal profile trim is generally visually cleaner than using Silicon? I assume 3 way internal corners could look messy if not cut correctly but was wondering if I should go for some sort or trim like this for...
Hi. Hope someone more knowledgeable than me can help. I am about to install a Merlyn Series 10 shower (sliding doors fitted in a tiled recess) and the instructions state that the inside of the vertical wall profiles need to be Silicon sealed against the wall tiles (after the tray has been...
I purchased this kit lately as to stop me using finger and have used it a couple of times, first time I used a fine mist spray bottle with soapy water, second time I used kit dry and just used builders wipes to clean tool often. Must say I think Silicon took a very good hold onto both sides of...

Hi there
I'm a DIYer restoring a shower in my house. The tiles are limestone. Grouting and tiles have been throughly cleaned - and grouting sealant applied. I'm now ready to apply Lithofin Stain Stop. Should it be applied before or after Silicon sealant?
If before, how long must I leave it to...
