Hi there,
My first post! I've been following the forum a while at a distance! a great resource
Im renovating my bathroom (2mx2m floor) and I've got a question about SLC. The entire first floor of the house isn't level, it dips into the middle of the house and in the bathroom this means there...
Hi all, I'm hoping you can advise me on a few things.
We have recently had underfloor heating installed. All was going well however whilst the builder was fitting the system, I noticed that he was using Everbuild 708 levelling compound to embed the wires. I could see anywhere on the packet...
Customer I'm working for has 21 bags of flexible leveller. Excess to the job. it's loPro and suitable for 30mm in one pour. I've used 3 pallets and it's OK. Not as good as levelmax etc but ok. It does the job.
Pics attached. Asking 150 the lot. So that's 7quid a bag for 25kg bags. Needs...
Hi all I'm after some advice. Planning to lay some Heatmat on top of Marmox 6mm boards in my Concrete kitchen floor then tile on top.
The floor has quite a substantial dip/slope probably about 10-15mm where I have removed an old larder cupboard.
I have some Uzin 152 SLC but it concerns me...
Hi,
In the process of redoing my front porch (3m2) concrete base with DPM.
With regards to laying SLC fully within a rectangular area should I incorporate expansion joints around the perimeter or is this not needed due to the concrete base.
Many thanks
Paul
Hi
Started a job today and been thrown a few curve balls.
Customer had tiles cracking grout breaking up (builder said he could do the tiling). Customer said half the tiles had been fixed to concert and half to floor boards. Sounded like a simple tear up, secure floor boards, fix Hardie backer...
Hi,
I hope I have posted this in the right forum...looking for guidance from professionals as to what the usual approach would be.
I am getting my kitchen floor re-tiled, the floor is currently tiled over a concrete base.
Will a professional tiler scrape the old adhesive off so that the base...
Hi,
We have a new extension, 45m2 with wet underfloor (commissioned) and screened 4 months ago. This joins onto the existing kitchen which is concrete base.
Kitchen will have elec underfloor. Tiles are 1m2 porcelain 6mm thick (thin!). Kitchen area 24m2.
The new floor is pretty good but...
Got a job next week where I'm tight on time. the bathroom floor is floorboards (solid) so I'm going to fix insulation boards , heat mat then slc over the heat mat but could do with tiling it the same day .....so is there a flexible slc that drys quick ?
Hi all ,
To save me scouring the web :0) , any recs for an exterior grade SLC , only one I remamber was an ardex one?
It's not for tiling on ( I turned that down ) , is to smooth out the substrate and then put astro turf on ( patio area.
Diggy
I have never used foam edging strips with self levelling compounds. Installing UFH tomorrow.
Its been a while since i SLC so thought id watch a few videos as a refresher. Everyone seems to being using foam strips. Is this the done thing?
Thanks
I've been asked to level the cellar floor of a bar. I intend to use an epoxy DPM over the leveller. Does anyone know if the leveller should be allowed extra drying time before applying the DPM? My gut says to leave it a few days but presumably if a leveller can be overlaid with a vinyl or other...
I've always used Slc then ditra on top but I'm on a job and another tiler does it the other way, ditra and then Slc. What's the drawbacks doing it his way as I'd prefer to do it that way as ditra is a pain to tile onto.
Surely it's ok as you can Slc over ditra heat.
Quick question please ladies and gents.
I'm on site and been asked for a product that can level a bad screed in a garage which will house a fairly heavy vehicle, 1.5tonnes.
However, they also want this to be the finished surface, no further covering is to be added.
I know there are products...
I've just read a post and the idea of using a hot glue gun to stick them down sounds like a good idea but before that I was think about stapling some render mesh over it its about £25 for a 50m roll which is 1m wide so effectively it's 50sqm and its gonna add a massive amount of strength to the...
Problem:
Tiling a kitchen floor.
Half is covered in bitumen (from parquet floor). Half is a new concrete slab.
There is a 35mm level difference across the floor and is fairly lumpy.
Possible solution No.1?:
Use latex self-levelling compound such as arditex na.
BUT: I am slightly worried...
Hello all.
I've got 110m2 floor to level and it needs to be spot on for 1200x2400 porcelain. I've seen large dustbin sized buckets on wheels, with a tilting mechanism, so 4/5 bags of slc can be mixed in one go.
Anyone know where i can buy one?
Thanks in advance.
